Recently, I had the opportunity to participate in the Škoda “Explore More” Podcast. It was an interesting experience where I could share my passion for electric cars but also voice some criticism about the current Škoda models. The podcast, which focused on the theme “Silence, Power, Emotion: Why Influencers Love EVs,” provided a platform to explore the many facets of electromobility. However, it is only available in English.
The Silence of Electromobility
One of the points that kept coming up was the silence of electric vehicles. Unlike conventional combustion engines, EVs offer an almost noiseless driving experience, which many find calming and relaxing. This silence allows us to perceive and enjoy our surroundings in a whole new way.
The Power and Emotion Behind the Wheel
Another important aspect discussed in the podcast was the impressive performance of electric cars. The instant acceleration and the torque available from the start provide a driving experience that is hardly comparable to conventional cars. This power and dynamism evoke emotions and make every driving experience something special.
Staying Well Entertained on the Road
We discussed connectivity extensively, including the MyŠkoda app and the in-car options like Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, as well as the quality of traffic data. We also addressed critical points where Škoda electric cars still have significant weaknesses today.
What Still Needs Improvement
One of the points was the connectivity and entertainment functions in many electric cars. There is still room for improvement here to make the driving experience even more pleasant and entertaining. Features like a Camp Mode and a Dog Mode are particularly missed, which would make life with an electric car even more practical.
Another important point was the lack of ability to filter charging providers. It would be helpful if you could specifically search for certain charging providers to make charging on the go even easier and less stressful.
You can find the podcast on all major platforms and here at Škoda: Škoda “Explore More” Podcast.
